TAT, AirAsia join campaign to drive travel to three regions
PHUKET: The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is cooperating with AirAsia on a campaign to promote travel to the North, Northeast and South of Thailand.
The “All Out Fun! Discover Thailand with AirAsia” campaign seeks to enliven travel in those three regions with low fares starting from 555 baht one-way, inclusive of airport tax and fees. Tickets may be booked on airasia.com until this Sunday for travel between now and June 30.
TAT governorThawatchai Aranyik said his agency’s tourism marketing plan for this year involved cooperating with allies in the travel sector to design effective and creative tourism campaigns. This led to the establishment of the “All Out Fun!” campaign.
The aim of the campaign is to encourage those who normally travel Thailand to do somore frequently.
By providing more choices for travellers, AirAsia says it has strengthened the Thai tourism industry in line with the policies of the TAT.
Tassapon Bijleveld, chief executive of Thai AirAsia, said the carrier was overjoyed to be taking part in this campaign with the TAT as it also emphasizes the domestic market, appreciating Thailand’s wealth of attractive destinations.
AirAsia points out that it provides convenient connections between key locations such as Chiang Mai-Krabi and Phuket-Udon Thani.
The airline also works with local operators to provide a shuttle van service from Phitsanulok Sukhothai and from Chiang Mai-Pai as well as ferry services to the islands of Samui, Pha-ngan, Phi Phi, Lipe, Ngai and Yao Noi.
