More rain for Phuket, Andaman coast

PHUKET: The heavy rains Phuket is experiencing will continue over the next 24 hours, according to the latest Meteorological Department (MET) forecast.

According to the latest report issued by the MET’s Southern Meteorological Center (West Coast) at Phuket Airport, a monsoon trough remains fixed over the Southern Thailand.

More rain, with isolated heavy rain, is expected along the west coast, especially in Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi and Trang provinces.

People in risk and lowland areas should beware of heavy rains and possible flooding conditions.

In its 24-hour forecast for the period starting at 5pm today, the center calls for “fairly widespread” thundershowers covering 80% of Phuket and isolated heavy rain, with northeasterly winds at 15kmh to 35 kmh.

Tomorrow’s high tides will be at 2:17am and 3:15pm.

The sun sets at 6:04pm this evening.
