Comment: Gazette Forum back on line after major revamp

PHUKET: Critics, complainers, doomsayers, drifters, fraudsters, panhandlers, trolls and all the other intellects lurking among the cognoscenti of Phuket, can get back to their keyboards. The island’s largest online forums are back up and running after a major revamps.

The Phuket Forum was taken off line earlier this month as record traffic, mostly from the local marine department, cops and beach vendors, knocked it over. The entire forum has now been converted to PHP coding to ensure a faster and more stable experience for Phuket Gazette readers, all of whom will be able to log back in to the site with the same credentials they had before the flood, so no need to register anew.

Give it a try and weigh in on whether or not the government has gone overboard with threats of fines and jail time for those caught using high-pressured squirt guns during the Songkran melee – ooopps, ‘festivities’ (comment here). If that issue doesn’t inspire you, stand by for the next Chinese tour bus accident, boat sinking, immigration department scandal, beach rule announcement, or ‘crackdown’ on anything.

Or start your own topic to advance a cause, expose an injustice, or simply test opinion on anything that might be driving you nuts.

Happy Songkran.
