Central Festival Phuket food hall now open
PHUKET: Central Festival Phuket celebrated the opening of its Central Food Hall with a ceremony on Wednesday.
Chairing the ceremony was Phuket Vice Governor Nivit Aroonrat.
He was joined by Central Food Retail Company President Alistair Taylor, who said the 60-million-baht investment in the project would assure the facility was be the best of its kind in Southern Thailand.
The selection of over 50,000 items from around the world would establish the hall as a regional center for gourmets, he said.
V/Gov Nivit congratulated Central for bringing a new dining experience to Phuket, saying he hoped the selection would make foreigners feel “at home” when shopping.
The Central Food Hall is the first in the South and the fourth in Thailand. There are similar outlets at Central Chidlom as well as Central Festival Pattaya Beach.
A fourth venue at the ill-fated CentralWorld complex in downtown Bangkok was damaged in the May arson attacks, but is expected to re-open later this year.
