A screen-matched Stormtrooper helmet from Star Wars, Russell Crowe’s mask from Gladiator, and Carrie Bradshaw’s bed from Sex and the City are among the iconic items up for auction in London next month. The Star Wars helmet, featured in the mind trick scene from the 1977 film Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, could sell for up to £500,000 at Propstore’s TV and film auction in mid-November.

More than 1,800 items will be auctioned, including Michael Keaton’s batsuit from Batman Returns (1992), estimated to fetch between £100,000 and £200,000. Russell Crowe’s arena helmet and mask from Gladiator (2000) are also expected to reach a similar price range.

Other notable props include Richard Burton’s Battle of Actium costume from Cleopatra (1963), estimated at £25,000 to £50,000, and Brad Pitt’s helmet from Troy (2004), which could sell for up to £16,000. Hand-painted poster art by Robert McGinnis for the 1971 James Bond film Diamonds Are Forever might fetch between £150,000 and £300,000, while Marty McFly’s 2015 resizing jacket from Back To The Future Part II (1989) is expected to sell for up to £120,000.

Captain Jack Sparrow’s hat, worn by Johnny Depp in Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World’s End (2007), is anticipated to sell for £10,000 to £20,000. Additional items come from films such as Saving Private Ryan (1998), The Golden Voyage Of Sinbad (1973), The Princess Bride (1987), Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), The Thing (1982), Bridget Jones’s Diary (2001), and The Good, The Bad And The Ugly (1966).

TV props on sale include Lady Whistledown’s newspaper and token from Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story (2023) and Carrie Bradshaw’s bed, bedding, and answerphone from Sex In The City.

Stephen Lane, founder and CEO of Propstore, expressed excitement about the UK sale following a successful memorabilia auction in Los Angeles, where Indiana Jones’ hat fetched a record-breaking 630,000 dollars (£481,000). The UK auction will feature items from the Ray Harryhausen Collection, among others.

The Propstore auction will take place at Bafta, 195 Piccadilly in London on 14 and 15 November, with online-only sessions on 16 and 17 November.
