Wendy Williams reacts to over 100 allegations against Diddy

Williams discusses Diddy's numerous sexual assault charges and past domestic violence.

Wendy Williams has spoken out about the recent allegations against Diddy in a new interview. Over 100 individuals have accused Diddy of sexual assault, with lawsuits filed last week. Some allegations date back to 1991, including one from a person who was nine years old at the time of the incident.

Sean Combs, known as Diddy, was arrested in September for sex trafficking, drug possession, and firearms offences. An indictment alleges he encouraged female victims to engage in sexual acts with male sex workers in events termed ‘freak offs.’

Currently, Diddy is awaiting trial at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center in New York City. Diddy’s lawyer, Erica Wolff, stated he “emphatically and categorically” denies all charges.

Williams has long criticised Combs. In an interview with the Daily Mail, she mentioned that many people told her she ‘called it’ after his arrest. She also addressed a 2016 video showing Diddy assaulting Cassie Ventura in a hotel lobby.

CNN released CCTV footage of the incident this May. The video from 5 March 2016 shows Ventura and Combs at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles, which has since closed.

The footage displays Ventura heading to elevators, with Combs, clad only in a towel, running after her. He grabs her by the neck, throws her to the floor, kicks her twice, and drags her by her sweatshirt towards a hotel room. Ventura collects her belongings, and Combs returns, throwing an object at her before leaving again.

Williams commented, “To see this video on TV of [Cassie] getting pummelled… it was just horrific.” She added, “But now you have to think, how many more times? How many people? How many more women? It’s just so horrible.”

Last year, Ventura filed a lawsuit in Federal District Court in Manhattan, alleging Combs ‘frequently beat’ her during their on-off relationship spanning around ten years. Her lawsuit described Combs as a ‘serial domestic abuser, who would regularly beat and kick Ms Ventura, leaving black eyes, bruises, and blood.’

Combs ‘vehemently denied’ the allegations, according to his lawyer. On November 17, a day after the lawsuit was filed, Combs and Ventura announced they had reached a settlement. The hotel lobby video emerged approximately six months later. Warning: This article discusses sexual and domestic violence, which some readers may find distressing.
