During the first take of the passionate scene, Stewart and the boom operator found themselves in an awkward position. Garfield explained that they were filming in an old country house, with the director in a neighbouring room. As the scene progressed and became more passionate, the actors didn’t hear the director call ‘cut’. Feeling safe and immersed, they continued beyond the planned choreography.
At some point, the actors sensed the take was running longer than expected. Garfield looked up to find Stewart with the camera by his side, facing the wall, along with the boom operator.
