Murphy has hinted at continuing the series, provided Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Cooper Koch return as Lyle and Erik. Speaking to Variety, he said, “I think what I would be interested in doing, if Nicholas [Alexander Chavez] and Cooper [Koch] would agree to do it, is maybe one or two episodes that continue the story.”
The new hearing might raise questions about the original trial, but no decisions have been made yet. The case regained public attention after the Netflix drama’s release last month. Kim Kardashian also penned an essay advocating for the brothers’ release. Initially, Murphy stated he didn’t want to engage in the justice conversation, yet he now finds himself an unlikely supporter.
