Medical personnel on-site responded rapidly before Delgado-Garcia was transported to a hospital. Despite their efforts, Delgado-Garcia succumbed to his condition at the hospital, Quirk stated.

Delgado-Garcia joined the training program in April, with his class expected to graduate next month. He received the oath of office in his last hours, becoming a trooper in the presence of family and classmates, Quirk added.
