White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre highlighted that the summit would advance the strategic convergence among the Quad countries and deliver tangible benefits for partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
India is scheduled to host the next Quad Leaders Summit. In July, foreign ministers from the Quad nations convened in Tokyo, emphasising cooperation in the Indo-Pacific. They sent a clear message to China by reaffirming their commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific and opposing coercion in the region.
The ministers also revealed plans to expand the Indo-Pacific Maritime Domain Awareness (IPMDA) program to the Indian Ocean, enhancing the monitoring of strategic waters in the region.
