During his wrestling days, Bautista weighed around 290lbs and even reached 370lbs at one point. His latest role as Joe Flood in “The Killer’s Game,” set to hit US cinemas on Friday, September 13, required a significant physical change.
The movie’s synopsis reveals: “Diagnosed with a terminal illness, top hitman Joe Flood decides to take matters into his own hands and take a hit out on himself. However, when the very men he hires also target his ex-girlfriend, he must fend off an army of assassins and win back the love of his life before it’s too late.”
To prepare for this role, Bautista underwent an intense diet over the past year, dropping to 240lbs. In an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Bautista shared, “I’m getting super trimmed, this is probably the lightest I’ve been since I was 19 years old. The heaviest I’ve ever been is 370lbs. When I started Deacon, I was about 325lbs. Throughout most of my wrestling career, I was about 290lbs. Now I’m about 240lbs.”
He added, “A year and a half ago for ‘Knock at the Cabin,’ I weighed 315lbs. That’s when the nightmare started. Losing that weight was a challenge. I’m now very particular about my diet.”
