Missing 11-year-old Glasgow girl sparks urgent police search

Police are conducting a search for an 11-year-old Glasgow girl who vanished after leaving her home to meet friends.

Lily Clark, last seen in the Mingulay Street area on the outskirts of Glasgow around 2:15 pm on Saturday, has been reported missing. Police Scotland is seeking any information that may assist in finding her. Lily is described as white, approximately 5ft 1in tall, slim, with long blonde hair.

She was last seen wearing a grey Nike zipper hoodie, grey leggings, a black T-shirt, and tan and white Nike trainers. Investigators note that Lily’s lack of contact with family and friends is unusual.

Inspector Kevin Dougall has urged anyone with information to come forward. He stated, “It’s out of character for Lily not to be in touch with family and friends. We just want to know she is safe and well. We urge anyone who has seen Lily or has information on where she may be, to contact police.”

Individuals who might have information that could help locate Lily are encouraged to call the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 0797 of 1 September 2024.

Police Scotland Greater Glasgow has issued two appeals since Lily’s disappearance, reiterating the request earlier this afternoon. They posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, “Police looking for an 11-year-old girl missing from the Milton area of Glasgow. Lily Clark is described as a white female, 5ft 1in tall, slim build with long blonde hair. Please contact Police on 101 and quote incident number 0797 of 01/09/2024.”
