Phuket ‘brand’ up for discussion at Wednesday’s AMCHAM meet
PHUKET: The Greater Phuket chapter of the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) will be holding its next meeting at the Anantara Resort in Mai Khao on Wednesday (November 30).
“This meeting is a ‘must attend’ for those working in the hospitality, travel, property and hotel sectors,” says real estate guru Bill Barnett.
“At a time when Phuket is making a transition toward a mass tourism and hotel market, global and domestic events over the past few years continue to have varying impacts on the destination,” he notes.
Wednesday’s keynote speakers include leading brand strategist David Keen and respected expert in marketing communications David Johnson. The speakers will address the past, present and future of the island’s brand.
At the head of Quo Global, a specialist agency for the travel, tourism and hospitality industries in Asia, Mr Keen will speak on the brand evolution of Phuket and what is needed to sustain growth.
Mr Johnson of Delivering Asia, a Corporate Communications and Advertising agency, will look at the challenges and solutions to keeping on top of media and image in the current volatile marketplace.
Registration for the meeting starts at 4:30pm, with the session set to run from 5 to 6pm. Networking drinks will follow.
Attendance is open to the public for 100 baht, which includes drinks.
Registration for the event is available at amchamthailand.com. Or contact Sheree Tanpensuk at sheree@amchamthailand.com, or by telehone to 02-254 1041, ext 212.
