Young man dies in big bike and pickup collision near sugarcane field
A tragic accident occurred when a young man tragically lost his life in a collision between a big bike and a pickup truck near a sugarcane field. The incident prompted police to initiate an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
At 7.30pm yesterday, December 26, Noppol Han Khunthod, an investigator from Khao Din Police Station in Photharam district, received a report of a fatal collision on the Nong Kwang-Nong Khrum road in Moo 4, Nong Kwang subdistrict. The scene was examined in collaboration with Sawang Ratchaburi Rescue and Photharam Hospital’s on-call doctor.
Upon arrival, police discovered a severely damaged black Kawasaki big bike with Kanchanaburi registration near the sugarcane field. Tragically, the body of a deceased male was found nearby, suffering from severe head injuries.
Approximately 50 metres away, a white Isuzu pickup truck, also registered in Kanchanaburi, was found off the road with significant damage. The right front wheel had detached, and the right side up to the driver’s door was torn.
The driver, 33 year old Wisut, was waiting for the police with injuries to his left arm. Rescue personnel administered first aid, but due to ongoing bleeding, he was transported to a hospital for further treatment.
The deceased was later identified as 24 year old Sahasawat, who was the nephew of the Chief Executive of the Ko Samrong Subdistrict Administrative Organisation in Kanchanaburi. Preliminary investigations revealed that the pickup truck was travelling from Nong Khrum Junction, heading towards Nong Kwang Junction to deliver fresh shrimp to a customer.
Meanwhile, the deceased’s big bike was heading in the opposite direction, from Nong Kwang Junction towards Nong Khrum Junction, as he was returning home to Kanchanaburi.
Upon reaching the accident site, both vehicles collided head-on. The crash occurred in the lane of the big bike, as oil stains and vehicle debris were scattered across the area, reported KhaoSod.
“The investigator will determine which lane the initial collision occurred in,” stated the police.
The family of the deceased has been contacted to claim his body for religious rites.
