Soriano Captures Class For Third Time

KATA: The crew of Irvmiren, led by skipper Andreas Soriano III of the Philippines, made it three in a row on Wednesday finishing first among Ocean Cruising Class competitors in the Iridium Andaman Sea Cup Race, the third event of the 12th Phuket King’s Cup Regatta. Skipper Andrew Hogbin of the United Kingdom led the crew aboard Chant De Mai to its second regatta victory in the Classic Keelboats Class. Other winners of Wednesday’s race included Peter Amern and the crew of Yo! in the Racing Class; Hans Rahdhan and the crew of Master Blaster in the Cruising Class; and Cedar Swan Skipper Radab Kanjanavanit and crew in the Ocean Multihull Class. Following yesterday’s lay day, competitors set sail this morning in the QBE Club Marine Circuit and Phuket FantaSea Coastal races.
