Trump’s phone background revealed as image of himself

Recent photos confirm Trump uses 2019 image of himself as phone background

Donald Trump’s mobile phone background is an image of himself. This revelation emerged through online investigators who scrutinised two separate photos shared on social media, showing the former president and his iPhone’s lock screen.

The background image dates back to 19 July 2019, during Trump’s presidency. Photographer Chip Somodevilla captured the image, depicting Trump staring and pointing at the camera. It was taken as he departed from the South Lawn of the White House, heading to New Jersey for a fundraising event at his Bedminster golf club.

A photo shared by Aaron Steinberg, known as Steiny from the YouTube group Nelk Boys, displays Trump’s iPhone face-up on a table while posing with the group. During this encounter, Trump autographed Make America Great Again hats for the YouTubers aboard Trump Force One, filming content for the 2024 candidate’s campaign.

Additionally, on 5 October, Sen. Eric Schmitt (R-Mo.) posted a photo on Facebook with Trump, where his phone wallpaper is also visible. Schmitt, who is seeking reelection, was travelling with Trump to Butler, Pennsylvania, following an assassination attempt at the same location two-and-a-half months earlier. Schmitt is speculated to be a contender for Attorney General if Trump secures a second term.

Zoomed-in images from Trump’s campaign jet clarify that he uses the 2019 photograph as the background on at least one of his mobile devices. While some earlier images and videos were less clear, the more recent, clearer photos confirm the use of the 2019 image. A late 2023 video of Trump golfing also clearly showcases his phone screen with the same picture from his tenure in the Oval Office.
