Phuket Property: The luxury of privacy
SUPERYACHTS, private planes, exclusive jewelry and privacy are just a few of life’s luxuries that people crave and strive for. Wait – privacy? Sadly, yes. It’s supply seems to be shrinking by the day, with the help of our friends from NSA, Google, Facebook and others. It might seem that the ship has sailed and not much can be done about it, but that doesn’t stop some from trying. Among them, are Beach Projects, who are seeking to provide residents of Phuket with some more personal space, and yes, privacy.
During my conversation with Kammalard “Kam” Urapeepa-tanapong, general manager of Beach Projects Co Ltd – a developer that’s about to introduce two high-end projects to Phuket and Koh Phi Phi – words like “private”, “exclusive” and “limited” kept bouncing back and forth. It turns out that these are the best adjectives to describe the multi-million dollar development growing in Laem Hin – known as Silver Beach.
“The project is comprised of several components, the first one being the large clubhouse, one of the largest in Phuket. We call it the Bugatti club.” explains Kam, adding that the access to the club will be limited and for members only.
“There is no lack of good clubs in Phuket but many of them lack privacy, and many customers want a more intimate, private atmosphere.”
But it doesn’t end with the club, “To compliment the club we have 16 Bugatti suites. In addition to that, there are 73 condominium units located on about five rai of land. In other projects there is often two rai of land filled with as much as 200 units, but we want our customers to be able to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere.”
So, not only do you get some private space, you get a lot of it. Add 16 villa units, spa and fitness facilities, access to the Bugatti club for the owners and you have a really impressive project. The project will be completed by the end of next year, but 20 per cent of units are already sold out. The apartments range from studio units to two-bedroom units, prices start at 3.6 million baht, and go up to around 50 million baht for the biggest, most exclusive units.
And if you crave even more privacy, Beach Projects are here to help. Just hop on a private boat and head to a private beach in the south west of Phi Phi island to enjoy one of the private, sea view apartments that are coming into existence under the name Bugatti Retreat Phi Phi.
The best way to get there? Kam explains, “To get to Phi Phi guests will have a dedicated hydrofoil connection. The smooth ride will take 45 minutes in business class conditions for 128 seats and it is already operational, with scheduled trips everyday. The buyers will have 10 trips per year, free of charge, with more discounts to come.”
The Bugatti Retreat Phi Phi is comprised of 16 two-storey buildings.
“We intend to have it operated as a hotel, making it the first Bugatti hotel project in Thailand. The hotel part will have 41 apartments, and there will also be 26 apartments available for purchase that can be managed as a part of the hotel,” says Mr Kammalard.
The project has different types of units, starting from one bedroom, through to two and three-bedrooms, all with a sea view and most with a private plunge pool. To add to the experience, the apartments are finished with high quality materials such as teak wood imported from Myanmar. All at a starting price of 8.2mn baht. And to make you or your guest’s stay even more enjoyable, two restaurants will be available, one on the beach level and one on top of the project, nine storeys above ground, called “The Avatar”, a signature building by a renowned designer Bill Bensley with a 360 degree view of the island. We can’t wait to take a look.
