A Thai woman jumped off the fourth floor of a dormitory in Samut Prakarn province near Bangkok to escape from her abusive, alleged drug addict husband who scalded, assaulted and thrust a glass bottle into her vagina.

A rescue team from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation rushed to Soi Bang Pla 22 in the Bang Plee district of Samut Prakarn to help the victim, 27 year old Naritsara, who escaped from a nearby dormitory to seek help from the staff members at a car inspection centre.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found Naritsara crying from the burns caused by the scalding and the wound on her head. They immediately administered first aid before taking her to Bang Plee Hospital for further treatment.

According to Naritsara, her husband, 33 year old Paisarn, who was under the influence of drugs falsely accused her of having an affair with another man. Paisarn forced her to stay inside the room and threatened to stab her if she tried to escape.

Paisarn then boiled some water and threatened he would pour it over her before thrusting a bottle into her vagina. He then smashed the bottle over her head and poured the hot water over her. Naritsara told officers she was afraid of being stabbed to death, so she did not resist the attack.

Naritsara explained that her husband locked her inside a room but she decided to jump from the room on the fourth floor to seek help. She asked for help from nearby construction workers, but they refused to assist her and asked her to leave. So, she jumped into the canal and swam across to the vehicle inspection facility to get help.

Naritsara revealed that she married Paisarn a year ago. He proposed to her after they had been dating for only nine days. She agreed to marry him because he had not shown any violence or drug use before. She has been assaulted several times since she married him. He once electrocuted her with a transformer device.

Naritsara’s mother told her to divorce Paisarn in the past but she ignored the warning. Now, Naritsara says she will file a complaint against her husband and divorce him.

Officers from Bang Plee Police Station reported that they would question Naritsara more and invite her husband for questioning.

Offensive acts and murders committed by drug addicts are frequently reported in the media. Just last week a 34 year old drug addict murdered a female neighbour inside the victim’s house. A week before that incident, a 34 year old employee under the influence of drugs murdered his employer while they worked together in the southern province of Thailand.
