Police report that they’ve learned that the two thieves used a car to commit the crime on Tuesday night. The car was parked 100 metres away from the house where they robbed and shot Russian expat, Elena Kharenko. However, the color, brand and plate number hasn’t yet been ascertained.
The Chief of Region 8 Police, Maj. Gen. Pawat Prommakrit, has also joined in the investigation.
“This is a serious offense and police are providing a lot of resources and attention to it. We are gathering a great deal of evidence to catch the criminals. The conversation with Ms. Elena was also quite useful. She saw and remembers the two thieves breaking into her house,” said Pol Col Peerayut Karajedee.
Police also checked the CCTV cameras for the routes that the thieves used to escape and got some useful clues from them. Police remain confident that they will make an arrest over the matter.
Ms. Elena Kharenko continues to recover from her two gunshot wounds in Vachira Hospital.
