Search for a jet-ski operator missing off Ao Po
A staff member of a jet ski business has disappeared after he was hit by a wave near Koh Naka in Pa Khlok at 3pm yesterday (July 17) while a search continues today (July 19).
The Thalang Police were notified that the staff member was hit by a wave while riding on a jet-ski between Koh Naka Yai and Koh Naka Noi.
Police and rescue workers arrived at the Ao Po Pier to start their search. The missing jet-ski operator is 31 year old Koset ‘Oat’ Deebukkam, a staff member of the ‘Kai’ jet-ski operator.
Fellow staff members told police that Mr Koset had disappeared about two hours before. About 15 jet-skis riders from the operator had been searching for him between Koh Naka Yai and Koh Naka Noi but failed to find him. They said that Khun Koset wasn’t wearing a life jacket and cannot swim either.
The search was stopped at 7.30pm yesterday due to the darkness, strong wind and waves. The search started again this morning at 7am.
