Falling cartons KO child in Big C

PHUKET TOWN: A five-year-old girl was knocked unconscious when three large cartons of milk tumbled off the shelves as her family shopped in the dairy section of Big C Supercenter. The girl, Napasawan “Fah” Aroonlimsawad, was knocked unconscious during the outing on Sunday and released from hospital today with a large lump on her head. A Big C staffer was shifting the boxes – each containing 24 x 180 ml milk satchels – at the time. The girl’s father, Setha Aroonlimsawad, said Big C’s management had paid the hospital bill but had not apologized. “We were all shocked because she was hit by by three-big boxes,” said K. Setha, who is from Phang Nga. “We don’t want to blame or sue the management, but it would be nice to get an apology from them. That would be enough.” An X-ray showed there was no permanent damage to Fah. She told the Gazette, “I didn’t feel anything, It didn’t hurt, I just woke up here, in the Phuket International Hospital.” Nida Kaewnate, Assistant to the General Manager at Big C Phuket, said, “We are preparing to visit Fah and we have a bouquet for her family. We are very sorry the accident occurred. We will visit Fah and her family as soon as possible in Phang Nga.”
