Driver loses head, 34 injured after bus smashes into truck in Saraburi

A tour bus from Bangkok, traveling to Ubon Ratchathani in the north east, has collided into the rear end of a ten-wheel truck in Saraburi around midnight last night. The tour bus driver was beheaded from the impact of the collision while 34 of the passengers were injured.

Khaosod reports that the incident happened on Pahon Yothin Road in Mueang District, Saraburi.

Police and rescue workers arrived to find the tour bus smashed into the rear end of the ten-wheeler truck.

32 passengers inside the bus sustained minor injuries but two were in a serious condition and transported to hospital – a total of 34 passengers were injured in the smash.

The bus driver, 38 year old Attapon Eakkapong, was found dead inside the bus. His head had become detached and fallen onto the floor of the bus.

At this stage police believe that the bus driver fell asleep at the wheel.
