Ya Bah arrests continue in Patong

PATONG: Two men were arrested in Patong on Thursday afternoon with 52 pills of ya bah (methamphetamine). Pol Lt Col Pichet Supmee of Kathu Police Station told the Gazette that his officers received a report from an informant that there was a group of people selling the illicit drug in Soi Paradise Complex, off Rat-U-Thit Rd. An undercover officer was sent to purchase some of the drug. After he bought two tablets, he identified himself and arrested Auttaya Sritoya, a 17-year-old from Khon Kaen. A subsequent search of the boy’s house turned up ten more tablets in a pair of his pants. He later told the police that he had obtained the ya bah from Krit Visoothikul, 28, who lived in Soi Sainamyen, Patong. In searching Krit’s home, officers found 40 more tablets of the drug hidden in a ceiling fan. Auttaya and Krit have been charged with possession and trafficking.
