You can stop as long as 1) Turkey is on the approved list and 2) you stay for at least 21 days, and 3) you get another PCR test, and 4) your COE reflects the correct arrival dates, and 5) a - It's all booked as one trip or b - it's booked as two trips and the COE originates out of the Thai Embassy/Consulate in Turkey. There might be more but those are the ones that spring to mind.
On reflection I think that #4 is going to be problematic as the Thai Embassy/Consulate in Canada is going to think that that's a bit much for them to work with. So 1, 2, 3, 5b seem like the big concerns.
So because i do not live in Thailand in your view i am not allowed to have an opinion Stonker about Thailand.
You do however understand others like me have this view about Thai's believing we are spreading the Virus. As your in the know Stonker, and its a baseless myth would you like to tell us who and where the Covid Vius was 1st spread in Bangkok . Note i said Bangkok instead of BKK as maybe you don't understand whan an Abbreviation means as in " Stonks ".

I was wondering if anyone had experience or knows if I can do a stopover in Istanbul on my way to the Phuket Sandbox? I will fly from Montreal to Phuket via Turkish Airlines and would like to stop for a week to visit friends. According the the wording it makes it sound like I need to be in Istanbul for 3 weeks before traveling to Phuket? Or is that 3 week requirement starting from where I originate my trip in Canada?
Thanks for your help.
How times have changed. When I was in Patong, it was Suthep's yellow shirt mob who held sway. Seizing the airport, sweeping all opposed to a coup out of the way and engaging in strong arm tactics. Anyone who objected was assumed to be a "redshirt". Foreigners who sympathized were called communists. The protesters are not the old redshirt north eastern migrant workers, but are the children of locals, locals who had probably turned out in 2004 to support the yellow shirts. Now that the locals have experienced some the insecurity and hardship, they are less willing to support the military rule.
IMO, it is a waste of their time to protest like this, Instead, they should go home and hold their parents and older relatives who supported the original coup, responsible. Remind them every day that what is happening now is their responsibility. Tell their parents and elders to go and fix the mess they supported, encouraged, allowed.
