News Forum - Phuket power play: Deputy PM aims to dismantle influential figures
Yep Or should that say 'a campaign to get the mafia to pay up to make this investigation go away' I really wish any campaign to sort out the foreign and Thai mafia operating in Thailand the best of luck but suspect the corruption goes too far up the chain for any meaningful achievement. I am sure a few 'foot soldiers' will be sarificed before it is business as usual. -

News Forum - Bangkok chef arrested for assault and rape of teenage employee
5 months to execute an arrest warrant on a man charged with rape! And they consider that 'swift'. FFS How bad to the Royal Thai police have to be before someone in authority says enough is enough and sorts them out once and for all.............Oh silly me I forgot it suits the corrupt politicians etc who COULD sort this out to have a p*ss poor inefficient investigative department after all wouldn't want someone competent investigating their corruption and rocking the boat. -

News Forum - British man lost in Thailand, family issues SOS appeal
"As stated in my comments, did not happen to me but to a rather gullible fool that I knew some years back. I am sure (having read many accounts over the years of it happening to others) that this is not as uncommon an event as you are making out as it seems many deluded and lonely elderly Farang leave their brains at the airport when entering Thailand and actually believe that some attractive lady 30 years their junior really 'loves' a fat beer swilling old man for himself rather than for his money.
