Maybe they should take some of that money and fix the out-of-control road death problem 😕

Trains help improve transportation safety.

And road quality is a factor in some accidents. I read that Thai shoulders are graded for cars not motorbikes, but bikes make up 80% of accidents.

So road safety "should" improve.

Self dealing is in every country. But this article isnt about that. Let's talk about it in "all other discussions" ?

Peak Oil. Do they know about that ? Do you ? It has likely already happened. And soon the price of gasoline and diesel and jet fuel will go up in a never ending spiral. And all those shiny new roads will be mostly empty.

Peak oil is a total myth.

Oil production is targeted to continue rising for many more years and will peak due to factors like electric cars and greater efficiency in ICE engines.

If you like we can argue about it in

Mmm, 1.4 Trillion Baht.

Best re-think “test and go” and all other forms of entry, then you might get some money in the economy to help pay for it.

Companies not making money so mega projects are used to prop the country up a while longer. Just look at China. Doomed and they can't do anything to stop the rising tide

These projects have been in pipeline for the last 10 years or more and are proceeding at a snail’s pace. I note that the section of high speed line through Laos, through extremely difficult terrain incidentally, that will eventually link Thailand to China, has already been completed and freight trains are running. Anyone know how far beyond the Bangkok suburbs Thailand’s high speed line has got to on its way to Nong Kai?

Mega projects create jobs and stimulate economy. The WPA in the US 1930s did it.

It's a good approach.
