Glastonbury urges fans to avoid disposable vapes for eco-friendly festival
Glastonbury Festival organisers have urged attendees not to bring disposable vapes to the event, citing environmental concerns and potential hazards at waste centres. The request has been added to the festival’s guidance list, along with other items such as excess packaging and non-biodegradable body glitter. Attendees are also encouraged to avoid disposable wipes, as even biodegradable ones can break down into microplastics and contribute to pollution.
This year’s Glastonbury Festival, taking place from June 21-25 in Somerset, features an impressive line-up that includes headliners Sir Elton John, Arctic Monkeys, and Guns N’ Roses. Other notable acts include Lizzo, Christine And The Queens, Fatboy Slim, Lana Del Rey, Lewis Capaldi, Lil Nas X, Maneskin, Rudimental, Manic Street Preachers, The War On Drugs, and Royal Blood.
However, it is the mysterious act, The ChurnUps, set to play a prime-time slot on the main Pyramid Stage on Friday, June 23, that has sparked widespread speculation. The unknown band is scheduled to perform ahead of Royal Blood and Arctic Monkeys. Foo Fighters’ lead singer, Dave Grohl, recently posted a cryptic note on social media using the phrase “churning up” emotions, fuelling rumours that the rock group could be behind The ChurnUps and planning a surprise appearance at the festival.
