Imagine how life was for an average person at that time ...?

Was it better or worse than today , what do you think ?

Maybe they were more happy and content living a simple life back then, but the World has moved on and technology has evolved and people prefer the modern things .

Thailand must be boring to resort to 200 year old photos!

For those of us born in other countries our schooling there gave us insights into the history of our country of birth so we grew up knowing and realising how it use to be.  However for the many of us not born in Thailand we do not have that historic knowledge so hence I for one find many of these old photographs quite educational. But then if it is not you scene then do not bother to read the thread.

Ratchadamneon Road 1947 .

Not too sure exactly where that is , but would Ko San Road be on the left hand side ?

I think this was taken from just north of Golden Mount above the Phanfa Bridge. That first five-story, white building on the left is still there. That dog-leg building would be at the SW corner of Maha Chai and Ratchadamneon.

Just different. From our viewpoint looking back it was worse. No antibiotics. No communications. No refrigeration. Problematic food supplies. But for them, they saw their world exactly as we see ours today. Because they, as we, didn't know any better.
