A woman allegedly threatened, “I am not leaving until I see you bleed,” before slashing her boyfriend during a breakup in their Long Island home on Tuesday, authorities reported. Marienny Yanez, 29, reportedly became enraged, seized two knives, and damaged her 29-year-old boyfriend’s safe, causing $100 in damages, when he expressed his desire to end their relationship in their Levittown residence that night, according to Nassau County police and prosecutors.

Yanez allegedly threatened her boyfriend with the chilling remark, as stated in a criminal complaint. Shortly after, she allegedly attacked him, slashing his forearm, which resulted in a trail of blood across the kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom floors of the home near Orchid Road and Snapdragon Lane around 9:30 p.m., officials noted.

Following the incident, Yanez reportedly dropped the knives, ordered an Uber, and took her boyfriend to a local hospital, the complaint continued. Police arrived at the bloodstained house but found it vacant.

Yanez was later arrested at the hospital and faced charges of assault and criminal possession of a weapon. She pleaded not guilty during her arraignment on Wednesday. Judge Veronica Renta Irwin mandated that Yanez stay away from her boyfriend and subjected her to electronic monitoring. Her next court appearance is scheduled for 25 October.
