Man charged with murder of Suffolk dog walker
Cyclist found Anita critically injured near Brantham railway line
A man faces charges for the murder of Anita Rose, a dog walker in Suffolk. Anita, a 57-year-old mother of six, left her home at approximately 5am on 24 July to walk her springer spaniel, Bruce. At around 6.25am, a cyclist discovered her critically injured on a track road near the sewage works and railway line off Rectory Lane in Brantham.
Roy Barclay, 55, with no fixed address, has been charged with the murder. He is scheduled to appear at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
Anita was found wearing only a bra on her upper body, with leggings and trainers on her lower body. Bruce’s lead was wrapped around her leg, and her jacket was missing. She sustained serious head and facial injuries and was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, where she died on 28 July.
This woman's name is Anita Rose. Anita was a mother of 6 children and also a grandmother.

Previously, three individuals were arrested in connection with the investigation: a man in his 20s and a 45-year-old man on suspicion of murder, and a 37-year-old woman on suspicion of handling stolen goods. All three have been released on bail.
Last month, Suffolk Police released CCTV images of two potential witnesses, emphasizing that these individuals are not suspects but may have information to aid the investigation. One witness has been identified and is assisting with inquiries, while police continue to seek the second person.
The independent charity Crimestoppers has offered a £20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those involved in Ms Rose’s death.
