Trump poised to win 2024 election, early voting data suggests
Early voting trend indicates Trump lead in key swing states
Donald Trump appears poised to win the 2024 presidential election, based on early voting data, according to a veteran political journalist. “If these early voting numbers persist, and that’s a significant ‘if,’ we could know the winner before Election Day,” stated Mark Halperin, editor-in-chief of the 2WAY video platform, on Tuesday.
Halperin, 59, observed that early voting data in key swing states currently favours Trump, 78, over Vice President Kamala Harris, 59, as voters prepare to cast their ballots on 5 November. “Make no mistake, if these numbers remain consistent in states where we have partial data, it indicates that Donald Trump will likely be president on Election Day,” he remarked.
The former a news reporter emphasised the importance of monitoring early voting numbers daily, suggesting they are “more crucial than polls right now.” Halperin argued, “It’s more significant than almost anything, as it provides insight into various factors contributing to a Republican overperformance in early voting across battleground states.”

Halperin highlighted early voting results from Nevada, particularly populous Clark County, home to Las Vegas. “Democrats usually dominate there, but the lead is 4,500 votes,” he noted. He also mentioned that rural areas are exceeding their expected share of the electorate.
He referenced a report from The Nevada Independent on Monday, indicating Republicans lead statewide by 8,000 votes. However, Halperin cautioned against overinterpreting early voting data. “It can change. We don’t know exactly who is casting these ballots or their voting preferences,” he warned.
“Every analyst I’ve spoken to in the last 24 hours, including public commentators, agrees that if this trend continues, Trump is likely to win because Democrats won’t perform well enough on Election Day,” he added.
The latest RealClearPolitics polling average shows Trump leading Harris in all seven battleground states: Nevada, Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Arizona, and Wisconsin.
