Assistant Chief Constable Wayne Fox of North Yorkshire Police announced that a body had been recovered at 11.45am today by underwater search teams, close to where Ms Taylor’s items were previously found. He stated that formal identification is still pending, but Ms Taylor’s family has been informed and is understandably distressed by the news.

Ms Taylor left her home at 9am on 30 September and was seen on CCTV at 11.35am at the BP garage on Welham Road, where she bought several items. She was later spotted at Malton bus station at 11.53am and was last seen on CCTV walking towards the play park on Riverside Walk at 12.30pm.

In a statement marking two weeks since her disappearance, Ms Taylor’s sisters, Emma and Heidi, expressed their fluctuating emotions and the need to maintain normality for the children. They noted Ms Taylor’s love for Halloween, calling her the “costume queen.”
