Britain and Germany will ink a defence agreement on Wednesday, marking a significant collaboration between Europe’s top defence spenders. The agreement outlines collaborative efforts to develop new, more accurate, and longer-range weapons compared to existing systems like the Storm Shadow missile, which Britain has supplied to Ukraine. Additionally, Germany will station planes in Scotland periodically to enhance protection of the north Atlantic Ocean, according to British officials. The two nations will also work on armed vehicles, land-based drones, and upgrading German Sea King helicopters, provided to Ukraine, with modern missile systems.

A new factory by Rheinmetall will open in Britain, creating 400 jobs and becoming the first artillery gun barrel manufacturer in the country in a decade.
