Texas teacher arrested for inappropriate relationship with student
Teacher allegedly engaged in sexual relationship with minor off-campus between June-July
Authorities arrested a Texas teacher Monday for allegedly having an “inappropriate relationship” with a former student over the summer. The educator from Carroll Middle School, Angela Barnes, 45, reportedly engaged in the affair with a teenage boy off-campus between June and July, as stated by Keller Public Safety and school officials.
A probe initiated in late September revealed Barnes was allegedly involved in a sexual relationship with the minor, according to police. She faces charges of sexual assault of a child and an improper relationship between educator and student and was booked at Keller Regional Jail.
A mug shot released by jail officials shows Barnes awkwardly smiling during her booking for the sex crime charges. Following the allegations, Carroll Independent School District promptly placed her on leave, as reported by WFAA.
