Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have faced criticism after urging people to register to vote in the upcoming US presidential election. The couple refrained from endorsing Donald Trump or Kamala Harris.
Greg Swenson, Chairman of the UK Republican movement, voiced his disapproval. “They can’t help themselves,” Swenson told the Mail. He accused them of indirectly supporting Kamala Harris by encouraging voter registration. “You don’t need a bumper sticker; we know who you voted for,” he remarked.
Harry and Meghan’s statement, posted on their Archewell Foundation website, highlighted their support for National Voter Registration Day. “The Archewell Foundation team engaged in a meaningful volunteer activity to empower our communities,” they stated. They used Vote Forward’s letter-writing tool to send personalised messages encouraging unregistered voters to register. “Voting is a fundamental way to influence our communities’ fate,” they emphasised.
