Two Palestinians killed in Israeli forces operation in northern West Bank
Israeli security forces initiated an operation in the northern part of the occupied West Bank. The military spokesman announced the operation early Wednesday. The Palestinian health ministry reported two deaths in Jenin.
Army spokesman Avichay Adraee confirmed the operation to thwart terrorism in Jenin and Tulkarm through a joint statement with Israel’s Shin Bet security service on Telegram.
The Palestinian health ministry identified the deceased in Jenin as two men, aged 25 and 39, killed by Israeli forces.
Two days prior, Israel conducted an air strike on the West Bank, which the Palestinian Authority reported resulted in five fatalities.
Violence in the West Bank has escalated alongside the conflict in Gaza. Over 640 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli troops and settlers since Hamas’s October 7 attack, based on figures from the Palestinian health ministry.
