Footage from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department shows Bon Jovi and another individual cautiously approaching the woman standing on the other side of the railings.
Accompanied by a woman, Bon Jovi gently converses with the distressed individual. Together, they assist her in climbing back over the railings.
Bon Jovi continues to comfort the woman, ending with a warm embrace.
The video concludes with Bon Jovi and the woman walking away from the bridge together.
Nashville Police shared the video on social media, applauding Bon Jovi’s effort to save the woman they described as ‘distraught’.
“Shout out to @jonbonjovi & his team for aiding a woman on the Seigenthaler Ped Bridge Tuesday night,” read a tweet from the Nashville PD’s official account on September 11.
“Bon Jovi persuaded her to come off the ledge over the Cumberland River to safety.”
Chief John Drake added, “It takes all of us to help keep each other safe.”
Many have since lauded the singer, calling him a ‘hero’.
