Never were on the same page of the last couple months - regarding all the changes, revisions cancellations.

Same as it ever was.

But only once in a lifetime, thank heavens!

I thought they are saying "further instructions"

It means NO Change

For me, that just means:

We dont know yet, we wait for further instructions, please check it yourself.

Aside: you have your pass?

So the Embassy is out of the game!

Like with a visa, you got it, the Embassy is not the decider on arrival, if you get granted, what the papers say!

That is still up to the officer in front of you. Who still can get orders, just in time, when your plane arrives.

Still, having other options like sandbox in mind, that won't hurt!

I have just had a Thailand Pass approved in under four hours, on a Sunday afternoon. I opted for quarantine as it was cheaper than buying a new ticket and I am staying for two months, so a week out at the start is not too big a loss - but I think the lack of time it took to get approved is an indication of what is going to happen to tourist numbers once the already approved Test and Go arrivals dry up.
