So in the second test, did the staff member test negative for Covid, or just negative for the new Omicron variant?  If it is the former, I do hope people who test positive but are asymptomatic, are given a second test before being dragged off to hospital quarantine.

Earlier reports said one of the hotel staff members who had served food to the traveller had tested positive, but officials later announced that a follow up test came out negative.

On Tuesday morning his Covid-19 test was inconclusive. At noon a repeat test returned negative for Covid-19. The waiter would be tested again on Dec 12 or 13 at the institute where he was being quarantined. The health of the five relatives was also being monitored, Dr Chakkarat said”.

The first test was inconclusive so he was tested again and the second test was negative.

Despite the repeated posts to the contrary by those who aren't here and haven't been here since before the Covid crisis, that isn't the policy any more - as has been pointed out repeatedly by those of us who are here.

Those testing positive are quarantined, but hospitalization depends on the individual case.

If everyone showed symptoms, as they do with a cold or 'flu, identification would be easy. Those with it would know and hopefully take precautions, and others could do the same.

That "most people" don't but they're still just as infectious as those who do is in good part what makes it "so dangerous".
