They do pal

In their exclusive high end clubs that the RTP cannot find due to being blinded by the cash..

Don't forget where the Bangkok outbreak originated Thong Lor exclusive clubs for gentlemen and Junta...

You would have to better believe that they have their secret places to where they have a secret knock to get in and will never be disturbed. Why not since they are the privileged and nothing relates to them except for money grabs.

If they keep the gates open - it will come for sure.  Delta arrived with the gates closed - so gates open will make it a certainty - if it is as bad/contagious as they think it might be.  You are right - the next few weeks will be critical.

Dont come to Thailand now .........................

Delta walked through the Mayanmar border.

That's why so many factories had high numbers, they blamed the bars ....did they put in place anything for migrant workers quarantine...nope.

Now they are bringing in 400 000, they were illegally coming in before.

ASQ was extremely effective....cumbersome and not tourist compatable, Delta didn't come through ASQ.

I really hope the vaccines don't work for the variant.  That would be too funny.  Everyone will be dead of natural causes by the time they come up with the cure for the common cold...I mean covid 19...

Pfizer predict they would get a vaccine for the new variant in 100 days if the current vaccines are ineffective

Official estimate is 60-90 days until ready for testing... And after that for emergency use again. Yes, if required, as it's not even certain the current ones don't work with the new variant.

What a disgrace. They are open all round the world but not thailand, what else can we do once we are vaccinated? It was time to open up and get on with life a long time ago.

They have already began to make a vaccine for the new variant , the vaccine should be ready within a few weeks for testing and manufacturing

They seriously should just stop with the New Years and any concert or festival stupidity at this point. This has a look to be something really bad that if not careful can be real devastation to life and economy.

Sorry friend, but that directly contradicts your earlier post stating "100 days" and it also contradicts the manufacturers' public statements.

They are currently only looking into the effectiveness of the current vaccines against the new variant. And if a tweak or a new version is required they will start its development, as a new version will require new testing and new emergency use approval instead of the full approval they have now.

Perhaps you'd like to choose which if your two statements you prefer and provide evidence for it.

I've just returned from a week in Phuket. All the talk of proof of vaccine and social distancing in Bangla Road is absolute nonsense. Chonburi should be allowed exactly the same freedoms and get some life back to normal

No contradiction there .

The new vaccine should be ready for testing and manufacture within a few weeks and will be ready for use within 100 days and they are currently working on developing a new vaccine for the new strain .

https://news.sky.com/story/covid-19-new-vaccines-ready-in-100-days-if-omicron-variant-is-resistant-to-current-jabs-pfizer-says-12479927

"Novavax added it has already started creating a COVID-19 vaccine based on the known genetic sequence of B.1.1.529 "and will have it ready to begin testing and manufacturing within the next few weeks".

Maybe not through ASQ (probably) - but it will come (like Delta) because of the increased movement of Thais and Illegals due to tourists arriving.

You quoted "Pfizer" and you give evidence for Novavax (not even used or approved for use here). Maybe Skippy peanut butter has some data as well, but this is not a serious way of discussing things. Better have a quiet beer on a bench mate.

Pfizer made the statement that the new vaccine will be ready in a few weeks and it is being developed by Novavax , and when the new vaccine has been developed , it will take them 100 days to get it tested and approved and ready for use

1 . A few weeks to make the new vaccine .

2.  A few months to Test and get approved and manufacture .

3 . Ready to use :

100 days in total

It was actually BioNTech's statement, which is not the same as Pfizer. But it's irrelevant.

Pfizer have indicated that for Comirnaty they need 60-90 days to make the adjustment, and the government have already purchased the latest version available at time of supply so it's covered (if an adjustment is required).

And while interesting, I'm not for yet another vaccine to mix and match.

1) Keep the new variant out and 2) check the effectiveness of the current vaccines before everyone panics.

And if anything else is required 3) stick with adjustments of the types you are using instead of injecting large amounts of people with cocktails. Some people are still worried about the vaccine and will object even more to poorly researched mixes.

Spanish Flu had 3 major waves worldwide (bad mutations) and it lasted 3.5 years - all the indications are that Covid might be the same. Hopefully modern vaccines and medications will shorten that timeframe, and they will certainly lower the deaths, but it could be 2023 before WHO declare that it is over and it becomes another 'flu type' of viral infection.

Not over but mutated in a type with mild symptoms same like it happened with the spanish flu. By the way sars covid 1 is a influenza a type like the spanish flu was. Influenza came from animals, too. And as sars related viruses like influenza a first mutating to variants that goes to humans but also mutate after a while to more infectious variants but with milder symptoms. But Influenza a type is not less dangereous than sars covid 19 as we saw at the spanish flue that killed millions and was a influenza a type. So your 3,5 years could be right but surly we hope it will mutate earlier into a variant with mild symptoms.

Yep..The 1st recorded case of this new variant & the bars etc will remain closed thru' most of 2022.. Typical knee-jerk effect that is the norm here.  It was mentioned that the Factories/immigrant labour were a big player in the initial stages of Covid cases here last year.. Of course it was..folk crammed in together, management only thinking of profit, closed doors, on-site accomodation.. that's before any hint of brown envelopes, but no, it will have been the nightlife that caused it all.. Ho-hum, TiT.

I predict that every time Pfizer stock and profits start to go down, a new "variant of concern" will pop up.

How to get rid of a bad wife/husband.  Send them to an all expenses paid spa/bar holiday in Dubai - hide some cocaine in their luggage - send anonymous report to Dubai police of a 'drug runner' coming in on flight XYZ.
