It's a feature not a bug. This is exactly what the govt. wants. They think Pattaya is a blot on Thailand's image, and wants to shut it down. They are not going to let the pandemic go to waste. If they really believe that majority of the tourists come here for the "natural beauty" or "culture" or "food", lol, they are in for a big surprise. IMO Pattaya and Thailand's nightlife in general account for at least 50 - 60% of the tourists in Thailand.

Wrong the pretty Pattaya girls will come and kiss the frog and transform him to Singapore 🤣😂😛🤩

Maybe its (past) time for Pattaya to re-set itself as a retirement destination, like Chiang Mai but without the smog, rather than just as sun, sex and sand.

Sun, sex, sand and senility, perhaps ...

Lol...doesn't Patts already exist as that?

How do you say fu in Thai? I lost hundreds of dollars trying to get into Thailand last May with30 different documents. Paid for quarantine and long stay hotels with receipts. I will never come to Thailand again. I dropped over 100k on my 11 trips there only to have the door slammed in my face. Never Again Thailand. No more money. Now you know why no one showed up!

So what actually happened?  Steve, did you fly there and they reject you...I'm only asking because I'm considering Dec and Jan visit...

Unless you want to come to see some temples, then no reason to come. It is dead.

Seen one temple...seen them all.  Blue temple, white temple, old timber temple...no interest seeing another temple for me.

So, why did you go to Thailand in the first place during COVID-19? There too many restrictions gotta go through. You were so impatience then you're complaining right now. Get over it.

The tourism sector in Pattaya is looking to the near future after they say no new international tourists have been seen in the first few days of Thailand’s reopening so far. Tourism businesses say that they’re seeing domestic travellers coming for weekend trips and long holidays, and the heads of the industry say they don’t foresee numbers to increase for at least a few more weeks. It is believed that the stringent rules and regulations on things like nightlife and alcohol consumption, coupled with the complicated process of entering Thailand is preventing tourists from visiting in any noticeable numbers. Its not hard to work out why, no bars  open and still in curfew , who in their right minds would travel miles to come here.  Mind you, it is nice and quiet and hardly any coaches, which is a  blessing.

What anybody expected? We could watch everything many years now. With this Clowns in charge nothing else is possible. The only thing they were able is to destroy the country, economy and tourism. And we witness it on a daily base since years now including the TAT. And we saw since years they are not able to reflect, learn to listen to the competent people. They brought everything to the bottom and they are not only useless and wasting peoples  tax money they are creating a huge damage to the country. And still you can read some posters who advocat any dumb action who damage everything more. Only Clowns would advocat Clowns, the others are thinking when we reach the bottom of this madness.

How can this be.  I heard that Thailand was so sought after that even the most wealthy in the world were clamoring to get in and there would be restrictions on those who were not "quality" tourists.

People are losing money hand over fist. Complying with all the requirements, only to be rejected for unbelievable reasons such as your passport has your middle name on it and your officially recognised COVID vaccine certificate doesn’t.

so if you have a middle name or two check your passport and certificate match. If they don’t, then don’t waste your money.
