In yet another timing coincidence, the Royal Gazette published new rules yesterday placing a ban on rallies and protests just before Thailand reopens to international tourism. As always, the orders were ostensibly put in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the country and to protect incoming tourists from any possible outbreak. The new ban on rallies and similar activities that are deemed a Covid-19 risk takes effect on Monday. Let's hope this latest attempt to stop the anti government demonstrations is as successful as all the others they have tried...😉

It's (public opininion) more like disappearing into the night. Where are all the stone throwers?

Absolutely terrified. It’s the same old picture anywhere  where a dictatorial government is in power. China, Russia, Vietnam, Thailand etc. The good news is that these systems of government never last for ever. You simply can not stop the people.

Well let's hope that this regime in Thailand collapses sooner rather than later, they have had a long run.

For that to happen its going to take someone with guts from the inside and when Rolex's come for free where you are, who is going to rock the boat ?

It will be difficult for people to change things without widespread bloodshed (won't stop farangs calling them cowards though from the comfort of their poolside villas) - as juntas hold all the bullets.

However it's a different world now - widespread bloodshed would bring widespread condemnation followed by widespread sanctions, and it's usually those that brings a country to it's knees.

In short there's a lot of pain to come between now and removing the current mess!
