News Forum - Canadian man arrested for stealing traffic barriers in Chiang Mai
I was rding my bike almost to the street entrance to my housing home area 2 days ago and a little girl not more than 5 yrs riding her push bicyle with her mom walking beside her saw me and started saying farang, farang, - - farang. I kind of hit the brakes and chirped to a quick stop and cocked my head looking back right at her with my mask and sunglasses still on. Looked straight at the mom and then direct at the little girl but did not say a thing. Allatteh same time the mother out loud tried to release a hahaha in a very very nervous voice to try to mask it over as was a funny ok. She really stuttered that hahaha out, but then she instantly knew she had taught her duaghter wrong,l well at least with a person like me that is. Then after 3-4 seconds I cocked my head forward and then turned left to go in and down to my house. The thing weird for me that I have noticed over the years is the Thai people for some reason look at me and think I speak Thai by how I look and carry myself. Happens everywhere all the time for me,and they are correct. And so the woman quickly knew she made a mistake with her daughter spouting off farang=farang-farang. Daughter did not have a clue.. But I kept my cool, did not say anything to the little (rude) unknowing girl only looking at her, which made my point and then left. Thai are pretty hip on character judgment on some foreingers for how we carry ourlselves here. So what I am getting at is I fully agree with you on most cases when it is said. -

News Forum - Russian woman assaulted in Chon Buri
Course not. Wait until someone you know dies in a car crash. Pictures are taken and all over social media in no time. Morbid obsession with dead bodies is part of Thai society. But we need to respect cultural differences apparently. -

Looking for acoustic music jams in Thailand (especially Isaan) (and dog travel on regional jets question)
Does anyone know of regular jams in Thailand, of the country, bluegrass, or oldtime American or Irish (folk) or gypsy jazz genres? I'm an amateur fiddler (and banjer) looking for where I could spend time in cold months, and also find acoustic guitarists or fellow fiddlers to jam with. I speak Thai, having previously lived there decades ago as a student. Are their forums in Thai I could follow to keep up with amateur musicians? I'm especially interested in Isaan, though I recognize I'm going to have better luck finding jams in Chiang Mai/BKK/Phuket. I'll be visiting Thailand for a couple months end of this year/early next, doing reconnaissance for retirement locales, and would like to find some musicians. Thanks in advance for tips. While I"m at it, can anyone tell me if its hard to travel on regional jets with a 10lb dog? I'd like to bring my little dog B Miss Moonshine (check out my Youtube channel: Miss Moonshine Dance, Music, and Healthy Lifestyle . LOL: Some subscribers actually wrote a song about me, using my dance and fiddle clips, pretty funny) -
