As Bangkok gears up for the forthcoming re-opening, the capital’s deputy governor has confirmed that 5.43 million people – 70% of the population – are fully vaccinated. Sophon Phisutthiwong says the capital is ready to re-open to fully vaccinated foreign tourists, in accordance with government policy. Not including the people registered in other provinces. I read that the actual population is about 12-13 million people here. So the 70% is probably not accurate

More than 14 million (or 22.2% of the total population) live in the Bangkok Metropolitan Region.

Without calculating it thats less than 50% is it not?

% does not matter. Vaccination will not hold the horses of Delta. Look at the many countries that has higher than 80% vaccination rate. Delta just turns a blind eye and sweeps through irregardless.
