The Japanese government declared that they had sent another 385,210 vaccines that arrived late Friday night. A government spokesperson confirmed the donation and say that PM Prayut Chan-o-cha expressed his thankfulness to Japan for this donation and their continued support and aid in the fight against Covid-19. Previously, Japanese officials made a massive donation of 1.05 million AstraZeneca vaccines in July that they had requested be used to inoculate elderly people that are at high risk in Bangkok. Then on […]

Really? Or was the initiation for Thai production of AZ part of a global strategy preceding the impact of the Delta variant in particular?  Why does has Japan have stock AZ that it abandoned use of in preference to another? For reason of efficacy or political dictate? Under the circumstances of shelf life it there comes the questions of "use it or lose it" plus "now you owe us" etc etc !

Japan ordered huge stocks of vaccines early then they decided not to use AZ in Japan.

Giving it away before it expires in a attempt at vaccine diplomacy. I believe they give it to Japanese people overseas via the Japanese embassies also.

Don't worry guess the usual trolls will be along soon, puffing their chests out telling people how good they and the Japanese are and that the Chinese wealthy are the ones that should be welcomed with open arms.

Great that any country donates vaccines. But why is this so big in the papers? With the reports by the government that 178.2m vaccines arrive in total this year, there shouldn't be a shortage with only just over two months to go. Unless TAT calculated that number of course.
