News Forum - Former Thai PM issues death penalty warning to coup-makers
I have only seen Thailand improve to my benefit under this government, even though I am no fan. Shinawatra should be tried in the Hague for his role in extrajudicial executions under his watch. And to be fair, so should this lot for being caught red handed taking bribes related to human trafficking. But this lot advance my personal interests more than Tony Woodsome, so let him slowly dry out in the sandpit and never return. A fate he richly deserves anyhow. -

News Forum - Thailand drops outdoor face mask requirement
Temperature checking is no longer required, was specifically mentioned by the CCSA. It should be stopped almost everywhere, but they just haven't removed them many places yet. https://thethaiger.com/news/national/breaking-ccsa-cancels-thailand-pass-change-entertainment-venue-restrictions Malls shouldn't be making their own rules on masks, when public health no longer mandates them in those settings. The way to change this is time, and people making personal decisions to live life without a face covering........which is much more pleasant in case people have forgotten.... -

News Forum - City chief calls for residents to check for hazards after 131 fire incidents in 2022
Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt has asked residents in the city to inspect their properties and the surrounding areas for potential fire hazards, to inspect the condition of their fire extinguishers, and check their fire exits. A deadly fire in Chinatown’s Sampeng Market this weekend saw 2 people die and 6 others suffer from the effects of smoke inhalation, while some residents struggled to exit the building because of grills on their windows, which are a common feature of old Bangkok homes. Four shophouses, 3 vehicles, 4 motorbikes, and numerous items within the buildings were all destroyed by fire. Last week, a […] The story City chief calls for residents to check for hazards after 131 fire incidents in 2022 as seen on Thaiger News. Read the full story -

News Forum - Thailand drops outdoor face mask requirement
Does anyone know the position the malls are taking? I wore a mask at Central Lad Prao yesterday as everyone had a mask on but I think it wasn’t required. Today my large office building has about 99% of people still wearing a mask but they don’t require it nor does Tops. At this point I guess I’m going to just start assuming I don’t need it unless the store has specifically put up a new sign to wear a mask. Also I thought the government said they could stop the pointless temperature checks—though if it’s hand scan I don’t even bother to do it anymore.
