Bhummikitti Ruktaengam from the Phuket Tourist Association

This man is now talking sense and realises the whole set of rules are ridiculous. Shame he couldn't work these things out before the CCSA introduced them though and fight his corner. The stats and logical thinking would have told them these things.

Why is the world so slow to accept c19 isn't a big problem, with over 99% of people unaffected? Even less of a problem when vaccinated........

I wish every country had invested as much in their health services as they have spent and lost on c19 mitigation policies. Such better value for the the world.

Is it really so hard for wannabe tourists to realise why they're not wanted here yet? 😂

Not wanted by whom? Any Thai person who formally worked in the tourist industry (be they tour bus drivers, hotel receptionists, restaurant staff, massage girls or whatever) who are now out of a job earning no money and getting absolutely nothing in government support, are desperate for tourists to return.  Doubled vaccinated PCR negative tourists are no more likely to spread Covid-19 than any other lower respiratory tract virus of which there are tens of thousands of different types.

Tourism operators on the southern island of Phuket are calling for the certificate of entry process to be reformed in order to attract more sandbox visitors.

No need. Just wait for the next TAT forecast of high season arrivals. I am positive it will be in the high numbers, which should please all on Phuket. ….. and with restaurants now able to sell alcohol, TAT may even raise it a few ten percentage points!

Until they pick up the virus in Thailand and spread it around on their travels... while the population is still largely unvaccinated...

Mass movements are not a good idea for now. That's how we got in this situation in the first place at Songkran.

Not wanted by the other 95% of Thailand.

The problem, as countless posters here have tried to explain countless times, isn't "doubled vaccinated PCR negative tourists" but what tourists and tourism require, and you can't have tourists without giving them what they want.

I don't know what's so hard to understand about that.

Because, fortunately, some in the world still have a working brain cell ...
