News Forum - Thailand’s authorities launch donation campaign to feed rescued animals
Good point. A gazillion baht is spent on buying subs without motors, an aircraft carrier that can’t even enter the docks are just 2 examples of waste. Thailand has the 25th highest GDP in the world and perpetually has the begging bowl out. Spend some of the proposed 300 baht tourist tax to improve the lives of these animals. -

Is Joe Biden All There?
I seem to recall people talking about Ronald Reagan in much the same manner, or was it the George W Bush jokes about what he did when no-one was in the oval office with him. It seems like this is just another parochial game played all the time by Americans. Is it a National Sport? I think Biden is running 1-1-1-1 at the moment in his biggest tasks. 1 Win - Passing a Bi-partisan infrastructure bill that had been talked about for decades with no result. 1 Loss - He managed to pull out remaining troops from Afghanistan that previous Presidents had talked about. But did it very poorly! 1 Draw - Covid-19. I don't think anyone can claim anything from the American handling of this be it good or bad! 1 Undecided - Ukraine. Has done well helping to unite opposition but will it really have an effect? Too early to say. It is sad when the only thing some media can focus on is his "sleepiness", when so much else is going on in the country. Just makes their media even less believable or interesting. -

Russia v Ukraine - How This Is Going To End
Moral - no question. Criminal - many questions. An allegation of crime needs to be proven before punishment is handed out. Asset seizures can be preemptive however the justification for seizing these assets has primarily been the oligarch’s alleged support for the Putin regime. It is not a crime to support one’s own government nor is it a crime to make money from politics connections however dodgy the government is or the deals may be. Enforcing these confiscations in an international court will be quite tricky. The exiled oligarch Mikhail Khodorkovsky had $100 million returned to him by a Dublin court in 2016. He is far and away from the nice guy oppressed oligarch he was portrayed to be by the Western media. -
