The Bangkok Post reports that Sophon Tantayotai from the TAT’s Jakarta office says Indonesians are allowed to travel abroad but cannot avail of the Phuket sandbox, instead having to quarantine for 14 days if they come to Thailand. The reason given is that Indonesia is still considered high-risk, following a severe Covid-19 outbreak in July. Yep...that's what you do when you want to keep a sandbox going. Invite tourists from countries with high levels of Covid.

Well, if the requirements are the same and they have to be double vaccinated and test PCR negative, that wouldn't matter too much.

It's just that the whole concept has shown itself to be utterly wrong.

Movement that spreads the virus is the problem in a country with mostly delta strain. They haven't even been able to contain it on an island, with high vaccination levels, selective entry, lots of preparation and propaganda. It's blown up in their face and apparently they're masochists asking for more punishment.

Oops, the Covid risk and punishment is for others, so apparently that's okay as long as some money comes in.

Amazing Thailand?

I believe today, Malaysia is one of, if not the highest, infection/death rate country from Covid19 in South East Asia.

Come on in, don't worry. This is what you do to keep the Sandbox going.

Talk about flogging  a dead horse!

But if the didn’t drivel as much as they did, Thai media would struggle to put up a required articles to keep themselves in business. Also we wouldn’t have as much as we have to laugh at as well.
