So, per head of population, Chonburi has more than double the rate of Covid cases Bangkok has, and not far short of double the total cases.

... and they want to open to tourists in a week?

Who cares what the totals are, you need to publish the number of tests to get an accurate figure, all this shows is that numbers are on the decline or leveling off (I would be good money that the number of tests done is also dropping).

TIT, land of make believe numbers.

Phuket has for quiet some time about 1.5 times the cases per head.

And that isnt even dark red, but sandboxing

These totals for Chonburi arent hard to believe.

Everyones socialising in any way they can to skirt the rules. We're all vaccinated.  Cops dont seem to be overly strict in enforcing the rules either.

Mask wearing is for theatre only and they often find themselves slipping down or loosely fitting. In private settings, masks are completely absent.

Theres simply no support for covid restrictions here anymore.

Which is probably very true, and probably why a lot of people in Thailand, Thais and farangs alike, have very little sympathy for those in Pattaya and Phuket crying about how badly off they are.

I am looking at those numbers and the individual provinces are jumping, while BKK seems flat.

7 provinces reporting more than 300 new cases and those top few reporting more cases than ever before it seems.

The government is NOT flattening these curves, unless they are lying.

Surely not  555

We may never know the true stats and the way Anutin runs his unHealthy Ministry I wouldn't believe any data or press release emanating from his department,

Unless it was his resignation perhaps ?

I think the most important stat is how many/what percentage of each provinces' population have been fully vaccinated.

... and, presumably, how many have been infected and recovered since it's now widely realised and  accepted that having been infected also gives similar or more protection to vaccination.

That's of a lot more than academic interest, since many countries (all in the EU, for example, but not the UK or US) recognise this officially (with EU vaccine passports) so it's a factor in working out whether a country should be 'red-listed' or not.

If the numbers are being fudged (IF), then it's very short-sighted as  far from making Thailand 'look good' it could actually keep Thailand red-listed for longer.

Don't expect too much flattening look at Israel with all the vaccinated and it is appearing that many  vaccinated are carrying and passing along the virus with little or no symptoms.   Are you one of them?
